Braves Game!

Today I went to my first major league baseball game! How exciting! The weather was really nice, though I was a little hot in my shirt and tie. We watched Atlanta's team, the Braves, play the Houston Astros. The Braves lost, which was too bad, but we still had a good time. Going to a baseball game sure was a lot of fun! I love baseball--it is the American pastime, after all!

Zoo Atlanta

Today I visited Zoo Atlanta. It is a great zoo with lots of cool animals. Here are some photos from my day. Can you name all the animals in the photos?

And here is a bonus photo of Kate pushing me around in the stroller:

Phipps Plaza

This afternoon, I went to Phipps Plaza. There are a lot of fancy stores at that mall! It is a fun place to window shop. It is a nice mall for walking as well. Here are some photos ...

Here I am on the grill of a Bentley. A Bentley is a very fancy car--but, honestly, I don't see what all the fuss is about.

I hear this is a fancy store. I didn't go in.

A little music appreciation ...

Tiffany's!

The store was already closed. Not sure they would have allowed us to take a lot of photos anyway ...

Window shopping at Armani
(Actually, this is the door ... but you get the idea.)

Versace

And ... not quite as fancy-schmancy ... but here I am in front of the Hanna Andersson store. They have cute clothes for kids ... or so I hear. :o)

The Governor's Mansion

I have driven by the Georgia governor's mansion many times. Today we got a few photos. The governor of Georgia is Sonny Perdue. He is a Republican and has been the governor since 2003. The governor's mansion is where the governor lives. When a new governor is elected, he or she will live here in this same house. It is located on West Paces Ferry in Atlanta. The governor's mansion sometimes holds special events--like a Christmas tree lighting ceremony or an Easter egg hunt. Tours of the home also are available on certain days. It is a pretty nice place to live, don't you think?

More from Downtown Atlanta

Hi, Friends! While we were in downtown Atlanta yesterday, I saw a few other big landmarks/famous places. We walked around after our aquarium visit, and here are a few of the things I saw ...

CNN! Did you know that CNN (which stands for Cable News Network) is based in Atlanta? It sure is!

Here I am in front of The World of Coca-Cola. It is a special museum about Coke. Did you know that Coca-Cola is headquartered in Atlanta? I love Coke--do you like to drink Coke?

The American Cancer Society--this organization does great work!

Here I am in front of an entrance to Centennial Olympic Park. Did you know that the 1996 Summer Olympic Games were held in Atlanta? They sure were!

Another shot of me and a park entrance.

While we were taking photos downtown, someone else was doing the same! I made a new friend. This is me and Flat T.J. If I remember correctly, Flat T.J. was visiting Georgia from New Jersey. It is always fun to meet new friends!

The Georgia Aquarium

Today I went to the world's largest indoor aquarium: Georgia Aquarium! It is located in downtown Atlanta, and it was awesome! You would just love it--there are so many different kinds of fish and other creatures that live in water. Check out all these great photos!

Do you see the shark? I'm down there at the bottom of the tank--see me?

Here's another shot of me and the shark!

Having lots of fun!

Check out this scary-looking crab! I am glad he was on the other side of the glass! hahaha!

Look at me with the stingrays!

Hey, is that a hammerhead shark?

What an exciting outing!

The Library

Today we visited a nearby library. Karen and Kate had to return some library books. The library is a great place. You can learn so much there! Kate likes to go to story time at the library, too. Do you like to go to the library?

In these photos, Kate is holding me in front of the library sign. I think I may be getting laminated soon, as I am getting a little beat up riding around in Karen's purse all the time. A little extra protection will be nice. :o)

Chick-fil-A

Today I ate at Chick-fil-A. Chick-fil-A is a wonderful fast-food restaurant that is headquartered in the Atlanta area. CFA got its start in the metro area many years ago, and the restaurant chain continues to grow. In case you were wondering, CFA's specialty is chicken. It is delicious, too. CFA also has some famous spokescows--maybe you have seen them. The restaurants are also known for being closed on Sundays to honor the Lord and so employees can spend time with their families. I LOVED CFA!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone!

Today is a special day because it is a day when Christians celebrate the Resurrection of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

This morning, we went to worship service at the nation's largest Presbyterian church (USA). It is called Peachtree Presbyterian, and it is a pretty big church. I sat up in the balcony. Also, there was this beautiful floral cross outside on the church lawn. It was just gorgeous!

Yesterday, we went to an Easter egg hunt sponsored by the church at a nearby park. Too bad we didn't get any good photos with me at the egg hunt--but here are a few decent ones from church today.

Happy Easter!

The beautiful cross of flowers--isn't it so pretty?

Here I am across the street--you can see the church and the pretty floral cross in the background.

How do you like my Easter outfit? I look pretty spiffy, huh?

I met Paula Deen!

Can you believe I have only been in Georgia for a day or so, and I already have met a celebrity?! It's true! Today we went to a book signing for Paula Deen. She is a famous chef and even has her own television show. She is from Savannah, which is another city in Georgia, but she was in Atlanta today.

Guess what?! (This is so exciting!) SHE recognized ME right away! I was so flattered! (I may have even blushed a little.) When Karen held me up, Paula Deen was like, "Oh, it's Flat Stanley!" Can you believe that?

Anyway, Paula Deen and her husband were very nice. Kate got her children's cookbook, and she really seems to like it. Paula has a famous restaurant down in Savannah. It is called The Lady and Sons. You should check it out if you are ever in the area.

What a great day!

I am in Atlanta!

Hi, Friends!

Greetings from Atlanta, Georgia!

I arrived here via the U.S. Postal Service--had a great trip!

I am looking forward to many Atlanta adventures. While here, I will be staying with a family of three--Tanna, Karen and Kate. Kate is 1.5 years old. She will be 2 in July.

Gotta run! More to come!
